Re: Turkey Chokefor a 20 Ga.

Look for a Star Dot .676 . I have one for my 835 and it's a DEMON beyond 40 yards, not to mention considerably less priced than other brands. I get 60 BB's in the kill zone at 25 yards and 22 in the head @ 40 yards, can't ask for much more IMO. By the way, I picked mine up brand new on ebay for $15 shipped. A lot of serious turkey hunters I talk to, not just locals either compare it to the Gobblin Thunders as well as Comp N Chokes, only they cost a fraction of those 2. Did I mention it was voted choke of the year for 2004 by Turkey & Turkey Hunting mag?

For the record, I got an excellent pattern out of my stock turkey choke too, the 2 gobblers it has killed past 40 yards can attest to that. But it definitely tightened up with the new choke in.

Star Dot .676 never heard of it,

You don't want a .676" for a 20ga. That's a 12ga. diameter.

I'll have to find out more about it though! "60 BB's in the kill zone at 25"

I think you can do better. wink.gif At 25 yards, the kill zone should disappear into one ragged hole.

Re: Turkey Chokefor a 20 Ga.

I'm sorry, I must rephrase that, 60 BB's in the head itself, that is my kill zone. I don't aim for the base of the neck like alot of guys do, I am for the head itself. As you mentioned, the head and neck all together is basically shredded, so I really couldn't give you an overall accurate count.

As for the .676, I wasn't really sure what sizes were to what gun. I had assumed that it was a 12 gauge size. I archery hunt for turkey 99% of the time so I have never really felt the need for an all out turkey gun till about last year, then I decided I wanted to have a mean machine just in case I do decide to hunt with the gun again.
