How meny times do you guys spray down? This is what i do from step one.

I first wash my clothe, then i put it in a scentblocker duffle bag. I spray with deaddownwind B4 puting it in the duffle back. Then i spray agen B4 going out to my treestand, B4 puting my clothe back in the duffle back i spray all down agen. I do this every time i go to my treestand. So i spray 4 times a day when hunting.

Am i spraying to much? because i find my clothe after a bit start smelling like the spray?

I don't use the Dead Down Wind (Not for any other reason than I've just not bought it yet). The outerwear I use is ScentLok, and I keep this in a Scent bag along with my boots and bookbag, gloves, & hats. I activate the carbon in the outerwear, and then spray it down a little with 'Natural Earth' cover scent. I do this a few days before I plan to hunt. Then the morning of the hunt I open the bag and put on the boots and all gear right before stepping out into the woods. So, no I don't spray as much as you are doing. So far this season I haven't been winded once (at least I haven't noticed or heard the deer snort at me).

I have found that your boots is a huge spot that many overlook, and I do not wear them until I get to my hunting spot to keep foreign odor down.

Again, that's just me, I'd be interested to see what others are doing.

To answer your original question, yes, you are spraying too much.

The scent killer sprays continue to work after they are dry - so there is no point (unless you just like buying scent spray) - to spray down over & over..

I spray before I hunt - Any time I can between hunts, I hang my clothes out for as long as possible, you air out -

I store them as you do, in a scent proof bag.

Unless some article of clothing has been exposed to human odors or contaminated by scent I do not typically use scent away or other scent eliminating sprays. Keeping the clothes in totes has worked for me. I do however usually spray my back pack when I take it and usually will spray the inside and outside my cap right before I walk to the stands.

I have always got a extra large garbage bag and filled it up about half way with leaves and then put all my hunting clothes in it and mix it all up and let it sit for about a week before hunting season. This helps hiding my scent and I only have to use a small amount of scent killer as a precaution. After every hunt I stick all my clothes back in to the bag until the next hunt. I have never been winded once do it that way.

I would say that's a little excessive. I keep everything in Hunter Specialties' big green scent safe bag and spray down before walking to the stand, making sure to get my boots (bottom too!) and pants, because they're what touches the most ground, grass, and whatever else you walk through. Afterwards, I just put it back in the bag. I never wear my outer layer in the truck either. That's a must in my opinion!

Take care,

Ryan

I spray down b4 going to my stand. I also dont wear my scent blocker in the truck. I keep all my stuff in a tote and take it out and get dressed away from my truck. I also use the scent free lotion stuff that goes in your hair and on your face. It's amazing all the scent precautions we take and yet they still find a way to bust us. I have had deer come in from downwind of me and not smell me, then theres days when they do. I use the Primos spray to spray down with.

I wash my clothes and then place them in a carbon sack with a "earth scent" dryer sheet. I only spray my clothes when I get into my stand after I have generated some heat. The dryer sheet really does a good job of impregnating my clothes with cover scent. But don't over-do-it. If you leave the dryer sheet in your carbon sack for more than a few days the cover scent becomes overwhelmingly strong and may do more harm than good. Using the dryer sheet is also less expensive than spray and lasts longer. I also put a dryer sheet in my other gear like my backpack. I very rarely have problems with getting busted due to scent. Conversely, I have taken quite a few deer that have come in from down wind of me.
