Honeymoon Salad........

I'll have to agree with you on that one Steve. When Kathleen first started talking about how they scuba-dive in Alaska, I almost had to leave the tent. I couldn't believe that she thought conversation such as THAT belonged in Elk Camp. Especially in camp with us.

Well, we tried our best to help her out. Apparently our efforts were for naught. She appears to be degenerating back to her old self..................such is life.:(:(:(:(

I wasn't going to say anything, but a couple of times when I was changing my clothes, I caught her peeking at me...............really made me feel kind of weird.

FWIW..................I'm still waiting on Chapter 3

Just answer the question..............please.

Pray tell my dear, What do you have in mind that would cause screams of pleasure ????

:D:D:D:D:D

Woah!!:):D.....Now, THAT looks like an enticing cross between an invitation to a game of laser tag, and an assault with a nail gun....

-We do both, up here....:D

-Which....-prompts me to point out....-how well you seem to be doing after kicking the Skoal habit....-

-You've made it a whole week!

-That's so awesome, Jim.....:)

...Oh....yeah.....:o...."just answer the question"....whoops-

-I'm not staying on task too well, now, am I??-:o

-just a minute- .......

well, i'm glad you dropped the scuba thing...

.....Oh, yeah- :o- the "scuba thing".....

-lol- NOW I remember-

-true story, though....-I might as well explain it, before too many people start wondering about some of these posts.....

-There was this guy caught and arested up here....-1996 or 1997??....He was ....ummm...-climbing down into those state-maintained campsite bathrooms...while wearing a wet suit, and watching people-

-just the womens' bathroom....

-this occurred on the OTHER side of the Kenai Peninsula, near Kasilof, I think-

-somewhere near, actually, where Colorado Bob has his cabin-

-whoops-:o

-I guess I'm not supposed to mention Colorado Bob....-I mean;- didn't he want all his posts erased??

-how do you erase yourself, anyway??

-OH, WELL-

-and what does all this have to do with food ????

....- that was YOU???-:o

-I thought all that time, it was SteveB....-

-Besides...-didn't you know that ALL mothers have eyes in the back of their heads??

OK.....-I'll answer the question...

-FIRST of all, once you get up here....-I'm DEFINITELY treating you to an enema....

-and then.....

-You will be eventually indoctrinated into the "Holy Grail of the North"....:D.....

-The inseperable trinity of fear, pain, and pleasure that rules up here....-

-you get the "full meal deal"-

-.....cause that fully defines Alaska.....:D:):)

I wonder if I could hire a local out of Seward to help me find a bear...........................

There's nothing really that says I have to go to Seward. I mean the plane lands in Anchorage, rent a car, go anywhere in a few hours. Stop in at an area pub and find a Bear Guide................sounds like a plan. Probably be a lot quieter........and I wouldn't have anyone staring at my butt the whole time.

....Oh...you're right- your're alternative probably would be a lot quieter...but- :(:(I was just starting to get excited about making plans.....

-besides....I had a really exciting undertaking in which I was going to ask your help - after we harvest your bear, and go halibut fishing, that is...:)

Yeah right.........................I'm sure it involves indoctrination into the wash and wax Kathleen's truck club.

Or some sort of bear claw enema...................

I don't know...............this bare-hunting might not be for me.

...."BARE HUNTING".....:o- .....Oh, dear.........-

-Anyway.....-the exciting undertaking I was going to ask you to assist me in...-was, after you get your black bear....if you would be interested in going with, when I travel a little north of here to hunt grizzly with my bow....(time permitting, of course)...

Is it ok to substitute Fresh Baby Spinach for leaf lettuce in a Honeymoon Salad?

And the whole marshmallow thing really threw me for a loop..............I seem to remember it being a salad made from fresh greens.

I'd really like to try and stay on topic if you don't mind , it makes it alot more interesting for the other readers................:D

" Lettuce alone with no dressing".............I just got that. It's a joke right. I mean really, this whole thing is just a joke. I'm so slow sometimes.....................

BTW...............This Bare hunt will be alot of fun...................:D:D:D:D

.....I think the spinach substitute change sounds just fine.....:)

-I know what you mean about the marshmallows...- I don't know if I can handle any more confusion factor....

Oh...!- and what is any salad without anchovies, Mandarin oranges , and nuts.....???

LOL, looks like this thread is slightly off topic.:D

-and- what do you think the odds are that this thread gets moved....-and to which room?:D

.....the spiritual room?

....the political room??

.....maybe the bowhunting room??:D

Not too sure there is a room here where this fits, but my guess is the womens room.:p:D

Yikes, after reading some of the posts in here I kind of think I maybe might just need to re-consider letting my wife and my oldest daughter go to Alaska for the 2009 moose hunt.:o

Serious ????.............Serious ????

Yeah we're serious. Serious about having fun and enjoying life...................it's kind of short you know. Besides, everyone knows that there's no Peanut Butter in Honeymoon Salad. It would only lead to wilted lettuce.

Tell your daughter there's nothing to worry about with the brown bears. She doesn't have to out run them..............she just has to out run MOM................:D

-Oh dear....-I'll be pm-ing you here real soon, William.....-

-lol-

LOL. I couldn't resist poking a little fun here too.;)

Yep Kathleen still have a lot of details on our end to work out. Think I will hold off a bit on buying anything for our 12 year old just yet.

Hey William.............my 2 cents worth.

You might want to look at getting bear tags for the ladies, Kirk V gets the first moose, and it could get pretty scarce after that. Bears are pretty available, and taste great. One will definately fill a bear tag on the trip, moose..not so sure.

Like I said, MY 2 cents.............Ask the Great Sheepless Hunter and see what she says.

Thanks Jim, we have talked about that some. Kathleen said that the moose tag could be used for bear. Need to do a little more checking, don't know if the tags are transferable between hunters(from daughter to wife or vice versa) I was thinking about getting one of each type of tag, each will get their license and also a fishing permit, think on the youths there is not a charge for fishing if I remember right from the Alaska fish and game site.

Probably would get the moose tag for the wife and a bear tag for my daughter. Like you say at least that way they both would likely have an opportunity to tag an animal on the trip, although I do strongly believe that this trip will be a great experience for them both regardless of whether or not they kill anything.
