JJL
Alright..................That'll be enough crap out of the peanut gallery. For Your Information: 1. The weather was spectacular that day and the elk were bedded down. I chose to do the same. 2. 95% of the people reading this couldn't even come close to making the climb to get to that spot where those photo's were taken. 3. If you look closely in those pictures you'll notice something. I'm carrying Kathleens Pack as well as mine. She was feeling ill and needed a break, so I offered to help her out by carrying her pack for her. Little did I realize that she had packed enough supplies to outfit the entire U.S. Army. Everything from hip boots to a tire gauge to knitting needles. And I'm not so sure that if we had looked in there a little deeper we might have been able to find Jimmy Hoffa. So get off of my butt !!!!! I in no way feel obligated to take crap off of anyone who wasn't there...............you bunch of pansies . Suck it up and come up to 12,000 ft. and play for a while, we'll see how you do. Besides, Kathleen kept me up late every night with stories about Chickens.........and UFO's..............and Goat Ribs..........and Polo Ponies. A man's gotta get some rest somehow............ Then, if only to throw SALT into my open wound, the Great Alaskan Sheepless Hunter wouldn't even consider singing "Dancing Queen". This does not please the Elk Gods and we were cursed from the start. No point looking for Elk when the God's are upset................might as well get some zzzzzzzz's. And that's my story and I'm sticking to it. OJR
At times like this, words really can't explain what the scenery or fellowship in an elk camp is like! Been there, done that and it is one of the greatest things there is!
JJL
you're welcome, kathleen, and it was my pleasure. i love the elk scouting pictures. now i know why jim was up late at night and early in the morning. lol That's right................. Up late closing up camp, putting coal on the fire, and humoring other camp dwellers. Up Early lighting the fire EVERY morning so that my friends could wake up to a warm tent and a hot cup of coffee...........and for that I get grief..............I'm hurt:(. At least I didn't have one of these in my pocket like a certain Realtree ProStaffer who will remain nameless.................:D.
