Alisha
Thanks fellas! Justin and I are really enjoying the house. Too bad I have to go back home on Sunday. Let's just say there will be a FEW tears flying that morning. 98chevy - come all the way to NS to landscape our yard. It's plenty big enough. Hopefully lobstering goes good this fall and we can afford to put some grass seed down. Trust me though, once I get moved here next summer our yard will look totally different. I'll get the flowers going and all, at least up close to the house. It's just going to cost us a fortune to seed everything.

Texan_Til_I_Die
I really like it, but I've got a question. How do you keep water from collecting and running into the basement through the double doors? I'm really ignorant about basements, virtually nobody has one in this part of the country. Of course we do have what we call "storm cellars" to hide from the tornadoes.
Alisha
I really like it, but I've got a question. How do you keep water from collecting and running into the basement through the double doors? I'm really ignorant about basements, virtually nobody has one in this part of the country. Of course we do have what we call "storm cellars" to hide from the tornadoes. the door is about 10 inches above ground level and we also have a 4 inch pipe to take any big flow along with all way around our basement we have gravel with geo teck (sp?) mat (what planters use to keep weeds outa gardens) over it to keep the mud outa it to add extra drainage
muggs
I love walk-out basements. Looks great.
elkoholic
Looking good! A couple of questions though. Any plans for the exposed foundation? River rock maybe? Also, I assume there will be no living space in the basement as there are no egress windows. The sooner you get some grass growing the better as the mud drove us nuts when we built our house. Landscaping can be a lot of fun, but a little frustrating too. We used the hydroseeding method to get faster grass growth on the lawn but sod is the ultimate if you can afford it. You two are off to a fine start in life.

Alisha
Chris - We are set to be married June 13th, 2009! We will be sure to post pictures! Elkoholic - the basement is currently Justin's workshop with no current plans of finishing it. Perhaps sometime in the future, but not anytime soon. What did you mean about the river rocks? We plan on having more fill brought in sometime when we can afford it so that the black on the foundation isn't showing. We are just so strapped for $$ right now that it will be taken care of sometime in the following year....hopefully. LOL Again, thanks everyone for all the kind replies!
