Cover Scent and Attractant Use

Lots of folks use an attractant scent on their person, expecting the quarry to come in at a dead run, but have you ever stopped to think about what the animal is expecting to see?

After testing, and practical, in the field use we believe that a responding animal is expecting to see a member of it's species, preferably of the opposite sex ready and willing to perform what ever act your attractant has advertised. Fortunately we aren't governed by truth in advertising where critters are concerned.

Now imagine the surprise that big old buck, bull or varmint gets when the sweet young thing or free meal isn't to be seen, but instead turns out to be a funny looking, badly dressed, two legged critter trying to kill him.

We have all seen the the perfect set up, the game approaches almost into range and suddenly blows out before you can take the shot. Why?? It could have been your scent or the pizza in your day pack, but even if you have done everything right, it's possible that the animal's senses were tweaked by the fact that there was no other animal in sight.

We at Trophy Blend now offer you a system to counter the "Blow Outs". Rather than reiterate the many common sense articles and advice regarding clean bodies, clean clothing, equipment, decoys and so on we simply and whole heartedly agree.

Now that we are at the point to discuss application of cover scent, try this, use only cover scents on your person and gear. The many great ones such as Sagebrush, Earth, Juniper, Pine and Cedar are available from TROPHY BLEND in stick forms.

But what about the attractants?? Simply set them in range but away from your stand. This tends to draw the game animals attention away from you while you make the shot. The stick formulations from TROPHY BLEND such as White Tail Estrus, Elk Estrus, Mule Deer Estrus, Acorn, Vanilla, Anise, Corn and so on, lend them selves well to to ease of application. Wipe some of the product on a log, stick, or rock, or simply roll out the scent and set the whole unit out at a predetermined range and it serves as a range marker as well as an attractant.

Want a real kick?? Try using or scents in conjunction with a decoy of the species that you are hunting.

In those states that consider application of attractant scents to other than the body of the hunter, as baiting, it is in your best interest to check with local authorities before using any attractant.

Give our system a try and let us know your results. Pictures and words are always welcome.
