turningcustomcalls
I got a new scope for my 30-30 and will be sighting it in this week. I enjoy doing this because I get to shoot, however I don't feel I am doing it right. I get it close to zero and have not missed a deer, but it takes me a box of shells to do that. Does anyone have any suggestions about sighting in your deer rifle?
wtnhunt
I like to line the bore and scope up at a close target before ever shooting. Typically shoot 3 rounds from the bench at 50 and then adjust from there. Fire 3 more rounds to be sure it is on and then move out to 100 yards if it is. Might want to check out this thread http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78332.
Eddie234
I just got a new scope for my 30.30 as well, i also bought a laser bore sighter. Should get me on the paper first shot, my paper target is broke down in 1/4" squares so I can adjust the scope after the first shot.
