mathews4life
I was just wondering how far you guys are comfortable shooting your muzzleloaders out in the field and at how many grains?
AJ
Re: quick question? The amount of practice and shooting ability has more to do with it than the grains. Anyhoo, with my ML, I am comfortable to 250 yards shooting a 250 gr bullet in a sabot pushed by 44 grains of powder.
lil hunter
Re: quick question? I agree, it is more the shooter than anything. I am comfortable out to about 120 with my muzzleloader. I shoot 90 grains of 777 and a 240 grain bullet.
tedicast
Re: quick question? I honestly wouldn't take a shot much past 100 yards because thats the farthest I am able to practice at.

David_218
Re: quick question? In my Black Diamond, I use 90 grains (Volume) of "777" + 250 gr. .452" in a sabot, all fired by a 209 shotgun primer. Now in my Knight I use 90 grain (Volume) of Pyrodex RS and the same bullet as in the Black Diamond, fired by a CCI cap. I keep my shots <100 yards. wtnhunt
Re: quick question? I would shoot out to 150 yards on a deer with my black diamond. Using 120 grains loose pyrodex and a 240 grain tc xtp mag.
too_pointer
Re: quick question? With my TC Encore 150 yards, using 100 grn. of 777. With where I live I really don't need anything longer. I agree with Trip 7 on his choices though.! too_pointer
