NS whitetail Posted November 16, 2008 Report Share Posted November 16, 2008 I shot my buck on Nov 4 and came home from camp on the 5 th. I have been hunting the same tree since 1989 and have never missed a season in it. I have those screw in treesteps to get up to my stand, when I left the woods on the 5 th, I took the steps out with me.............. two reasons, keep people out of my stand in case one of my family wanted to hunt it and because the steps are worth $7 each @ 9 = $63 that someone might just want to steal. I went back down to camp on last Monday night and went in the woods on Tuesday morning before daylight. When I started in, I noticed that someone had been in my path on a 4-wheeler. When I got to my tree, I noticed that someone had reached up as far as they could and cut my rifle hauling string off. I thought........ hummmmm someone must have been POed cause they couldn't get up my tree. Anyway, when I got back out to my truck.......... was I in for a surprise , someone ( I can imagine the same person that was into my tree ) had thrown a load of assorted nails and screws in the place that I park my truck , I picked up about and icecream container full. I even drove over the nails and was parked on top of some......... luckily and I don't know how, but I never had a flat. You may not think it is 'antis', but who knows?...We got laws against that kind of thing, ya know. I like Gary's idea! Hang it high enough so they cant get it! You might want to get a big magnet and go over the area you park. Never know if you missed some.
