brownie65
I used to chew 1 to 2 cans of Skoal a day. Would get sores in my mouth & just move where I put it from spot to spot, give a spot time to heal. Finally decided I needed to quit. We were at Ft. Irwin (in the Mojave desert) playing war games. Had 2 rolls that I just threw out the window. Surprisingly I didn't miss it at all. When we got back to base (Ft. Ord) & would go out for a few beverages it would drive me nuts. I had to chew while having some refreshments. Did this for awhile & finally just totally stopped. This has been about 22 years ago. I am glad I quit for a few reasons. Health being one, mouth/throat cancer are pretty scary. I would sleep with chew in, get up brush my teeth & put more in. Never would spit either, just swallowed. Cost is another reason. When I quit I think it cost around $12-14 a roll. What will that get you now , around 3 cans. Another reason is the girls. I am sure they like a clean , fresher mouth better. you have to want to do it to succeed. If you fall off the wagon and chew every now & then don't sweat it. Keep trying, you will succeed , if you really want to. When at work or anywhere, I hate seeing people spit big ole globs of spit & chew on the floor,in the water fountain or anywhere for that matter. When I chewed it didn't bother me but now I just hate it. Best of Luck to you.
JJL
Why.............is the key. You have to find the reason, the motivator. Healthy life choice isn't it.......if you were concerned about your health you'd have quit a long time ago. My motivator..................here recently I found something in my life that was extremely important to me and as soon as I could grasp it, it was gone. If I can live my daily life without it...........I can do without Skoal as well. You need a motivator.................it's easy then. Master_Chief
I quit chewing Copenhagen several years ago. Was doing 1-2 cans a day. As Jeramie said I have never regretted quitting. Was the toughest thing I have ever done to my body. Hang in there. Vent on us if you need too.

pendog
Did the Cope thing for years, only thing that helped me was Prayer and having the courage to resist.
OJR
I quit several years ago and have never missed it since. It was hard for the first few days, but now I don't even think about it! One thing I noticed after a few days was the food starting tasting so much better. My sense of taste really came around. Now I really enjoy all the different spices and flavors when cooking and eating!

Missilelock
I quit cope & smokes both. I never had the willpower to do it on my own till I became a Christian. Quitting was a pretty easy thing compared to some of the other changes that God had in store for me LOL
Norm Sauceman
Copenhagen and Sweet Garrett was my vise until I gave it up about 15 years ago. Still, to this day, when I see or smell someone dipping or chewing, it makes my mouth water.
wtnhunt
Good luck. Fortunately have never had any tobacco habits. Think second hand smoke from my parents for the years I was growing up was enough to turn me off of tobacco products for life.
