Texan_Til_I_Die
I'm sure your deer may be different, but around here it's not the sound of an engine that's a problem, it's the sight and smell of a human. The deer don't spook much from a pickup driving by, unless there happens to be people riding in the back. But an ATV with the rider exposed is just a fast moving, noisy person to them. buckbuster11
Where I hunt there is a lot of truck/4 wheeler traffic. It totally depends on the deer in my experience. If they are used to it they will probably tolerate if you don't get to close. I've seen deer totally freak out by a 4 wheeler or a truck driving up a gaswell road or something, and I've seen deer just stand there and watch. My opinion would be though, stay as far away from the big bucks as you can with a 4 wheeler or truck.

csualumni21000
s long as the atv is not associated with bad things. If you pitch out corn or apples you could probably condition the deer come to the sound of the atv. Pavlov and what not.
stcif
Speaking of four wheeler tracks, here is how I shot my biggest deer. Several yaers ago I went hunting late one day as my daughter had been sick all night. I arrived at 11:00 a.m., parked my Jeep and began walking a logging road I usually walk. There was a fresh set of four wheeler tracks from that morning on this road. I walked right in them and after a short while I noticed a deer fifty yards up a hill to my left. He stood up (big mistake) and I shot him. It is the only 8 pointer I ever harvested. My point is I know that person on the wheeler most likely drove by this bedded buck. The wheeler didn't spook him as it kept rolling. It only spooked when I walked by. I think for the most part deer in farm country are used to the sights and sounds of tractors, engines etc... Get off the tractor or wheeler and they run. I've personally been on wheelers and gotten quite close to deer before they run.
