KirkV Posted November 21, 2008 Report Share Posted November 21, 2008 Well tomorrow opens another 3 day season of lead flying all over God's green earth..... I mean another 3 day season opener of Illinois shotgun deer season. I will have my trust TC Pro Hunter in my hand with a 45 caliber Sabot waiting patiently. It has been a very rough season for me as I put a self imposed 145-150" restriction on myself this year. I have watched 135 class deer walk by and not shot. I watched 6 bucks walk by yesterday morning after they picked the corn witn not a single one being over 2 1/2 years old. I have seen 2 shooters the entire bowhunting season as the corn was up the whole time, and now the big boys are in lockdown with the does they are breeding! I will probably give them one day and then start stalking slowly through the strip mine spoils with my nose in the wind trying to bump one out or catch him napping. It just does not look good for me this year. On top of that it is the last year I will probably hunt this property I have pulled 6 pope and young deer and one boone and crockett deer from as it will be sold. Anyone with a cool million they don't need please contact me for the info LOL. Wish me luck and good luck to everyone else here on the forum!
