oneshot
Why not hunt in comfort, I do! With my Lucky's blind I put in my favorite chair and heater and still have room to stretch out. I've had this blind for 8 years now and it's still like new. I've even left it out for a full year in the snow, rain and wind. No problems. Best blind on the market and nice people to talk and deal with, they do what you want them to so that you're happy hunting. Here's an inside shot of mine. You can see my recliner chair and the 20 lb. propane tank with heater is to the left of the chair (unseen). Still plenty of room for goodies and to shoot. Carpet not included.... From inside view. Check out their site and the video of the many types of blinds they offer. A number of my friends have them also with the same results I've had, fantastic!!! http://www.luckyshuntingblinds.com/index.htm

Rayzorp
A lot celebrating Thanksgiving lol,, my left knee finally said "no mas" to me a few years ago, since then I don't come close to a tree stand, so ground blind for me. In the right spot they are good,, but here in Jersey unless you have access to private property, leaving it out is taboo,, still looking for one that is easy and quiet to set up,, until then I've been using a combination of camo burlap, sticks and brush from the woods,, but even that has a price, most of the time other hunters will trash it for kicks,, Edited November 30, 2008 by Rayzorp
Ravin R10 man
Hunted out of my double bull this year instead of my usual shooting house..took a Mr Heater with and a chair..not bad, but I didnt put a carpet down like you did..LOL
Flintlock1776
I need to set up my Double Bull Matrix RECURVE model. It is the tallest DB made and the deer can get within feet of you. I like it as a big guy can really stand in it, other blinds that won't happen, No velcro to make noise and 360 degrees of shoot thru mesh. PLEASE DO NOT USE A PROPANE HEATER IN A CONFINED SPACE. You have been lucky so far but it is too dangerous to keep tempting fate. I can set up my blind in less than a minute, no kidding. Easiest blind I've ever set up. And they are quiet. And they are not heavy either. Really, check them out. You'll be glad you did. While using these heaters you must take proper care not to start a fire while using them. And never ever use them in an enclosed tent, blind or other area. You must have ample fresh air flowing. While using a heater in my blind I always have at least 3 windows open for viewing the area and allowing fresh air to circulate inside of the blind. Please be careful. oneshot
can you give tips on how to hunt from a blind. i'm new to blind hunting. Hunt a ground blind just like a tree stand. Only you don't need a tree to set up on a good trail. I always open the windows towards the area I expect the animals to come from and leave the others closed. This way the animals will have a very hard time seeing your silouette. I usually set the blind up about 20 yards from where I expect the animals to move, but that depends on what you're hunting and the type of weapon you're using. If you have any specific questions just post them here and I will answer them for you.
stevebeilgard
can you give tips on how to hunt from a blind. i'm new to blind hunting. welcome to the forums, bigboy. ground blinds are really pretty simple. put your blind in a likely spot, get in. no talking, watch the wind direction, and wait. keep most of the windows closed and only peek out of them. open them for the shot. if you have all the windows open, the game can see movement inside. wtnhunt
Welcome to the forums bigboy. Have used homemade ground blinds here for years, but got my first commercial made ground blind from my wife for an anniversary gift just less than a month ago. She bought me the ameristep "doghouse" for an anniversary gift, lol. So now she can send me to the doghouse with a smile on my face. Some good points above about the windows, keeping the windows on the sides you are not expecting to see anything closed helps for sure. Try to use the blind in a place where you have good view, but it really helps alot if you can brush in the blind. I like setting up on fence rows, good ground cover helps. Will try to get some pics of my current setup next time I hunt it.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
So now she can send me to the doghouse with a smile on my face. LOL, thats funny :D I love ground blinds. We have a doghouse and now an Ameristep Intimidator. Just find you a comfortable chair and your all set. My dad used the doghouse when we went up to the U.P. for gun season, I used the Intimidator, we both felt it was a little to chilly out, so we headed into the small town near by and their little hardware store had Mr. Heaters, refurbished for $50 . They come with a one year factory warranty, so we both bought one. Ground blind hunting will never be the same:eek: I sat longer than I usually would, and at times, was able to sit without gloves or a coat on, just a couple of t-shirts and a sweatshirt. We are heading up north again in a few weeks for muzzleloader season, but I think I might use my bow this time in the ground blind. I never had much trouble with room in the doghouse, even with a bow since I am not to tall, but the Intimidator is HUGE compared to the doghouse. ksbowhntr77
I love ground blinds for rifle hunting and coyote hunting.... I have a Cabela's blind that I got two years ago for X-mas and love it.... but this year dad and I made these blinds out of Mini-bulk seed bags... very inexpensive, a little 3/8" Rebar and some paint and whollah we have four blinds.. there are only three here. They are just the right size for one person and gear. We put five gallon buckets in each blind and I bought some padded bucket seats from Cabela's for the buckets to be comfortable..... wtnhunt
Here is my ground blind setup. Got a pretty good view of the bottom from it. Pic from back in the summer looking from top of the hill just out in front of where the blind is.
