rookieee Posted November 24, 2008 Report Share Posted November 24, 2008 its hard to hold the tear back if you are a parent,this is what happen,Sat nov 22 was openning day for duck hunting in Fl ,im sad to report that there was a terrible accident on lake ockochobee in central Fl a family of (3) father,and (2) son a (9) and a (15) year old were duck hunting when one of the shootgun was accidentelly discharge and struct the (15)year old in the head and was pronounce dead at the ramp,please emforce gun safety all the time, if you can say a prayer for this family in there time of needs.think safety all the time may god bless all Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm sure with all of us hunting forever, we could understand how easy that could happen, I was a huge duck hunter, but has nothing to do with ducks. I'm very thankful that my dad has always preached gun safety to me, even when I thought it was overkill in the beginning. Through the years of reading stories like this, I understand why he was so adament about it. The first thing thing he would always say was, "is your safety on?", and then before getting off stand, "are you clear?"
