Why do you hunt?

Re: Why do you hunt?

First, let me address the "sport" thing. By definition: an active pasttime; diversion, ususually involving physical exercise and a set form of rules. That sounds like hunting to me. As for why I hunt, well, it is a chance to be me, who I am. If I did not enjoy the excitement and anticipation of the hunt, I would not hunt. Each hunt is a journey, an experience, sometimes good, sometimes bad. I love it all.

Re: Why do you hunt?

that's pretty simple. The camraderie of camp, and the splendor of being in the outdoors, rifle in hand and getting a small glimpse into the way our ancestors lived. With everyone always complaining about stupid, meaningless bs and all the political correctness in the world, it's refreshing to get back to the roots of what being free truly is.

Re: Why do you hunt?

i like the thrill the disappointment the no other high in the world that you get from shooting a nice buck the meat the friends and most of the people i have hunted with or know who hunt. i don't think there are many things in the world that can make you feel like a million bucks one second and half a second later you are flat on your butt. gotta love the ego shattering effect it has. plus for now anyhow anyone who is legal and has a bow or gun can hunt.

Because it (and fishing) are the only things worth doing in this world. At least for me anyway. When I am out in the woods nothing else matters and I can sit back and pity all the people that don't know what they are missing

Re: Why do you hunt?

because i have to. really just to be outside. i love that when it works out a deer or elk comes within feet of you and never evne knows you are there. also to get meat. that is one of the best feelings when my mom tells me we are eating the elk i shot for dinner. also to just spend time with my lord and savior and creator of the outdoors that i would go crazy without.

Re: Why do you hunt?

Why I hunt:

Hunting is my escape from everyday stresses that occur.....When I'm in the woods it gives me a chance to reflect on whats going on and also a opportunity to clear my mind or work hassles........

I also love the outdoors...It's soo peaceful to watch animals activites and how to relate to things....

There is no better feeling than seeing an animal come in that are are going to try to harvest...Literally every time my heart comes out of my chest....If that ever stops happening for me, it time to quit hunting.....After the shot, having to sit down b/c your affraid if you stand up you might fall out from shaking so bad.....What a feeling!!!!

Memories with my family and friends....Those are things that can never be taken away from you....

It is a passion of mine to hunt.....Really the only thing I'm more passionate about is family....

Man what a great feeling it is to look back and think about why you do it....It makes you feel so good...

this post has made my day!!!!

Thanks,

Pat

Re: Why do you hunt?

Because for the 9 years of my marriage I stayed at home WAITING for my husband to come home. I never understood the "obsession". He was gone ALL the time. After MY first deer...I'M gone all the time. The quietness, the anticipation, the adrenaline and the rewards are all the things that will forever keep me addicted to this sport.

Re: Why do you hunt?

when i am in my stand or on the ground watchin the sun come up and seeing the day come alive, there is no place that i would rather be. the woods is a place where i can just forget about everything and just take it in. i also hunt for meat because the deer i shoot saves us quite a bit of money as opposed to buying beef
