I doubt what little natural moisture that is on your fingers would cause a problem. If your hands were soaking wet, maybe. On a cold day, after the first shot, the barrel will have some condensation in it before the second load could be rammed down the barrel anyway. Even if you dry patch between shots, it has little effect on the barrel reaching the same temperature as the ambiant temperature. I guess they are just trying to say it is better to be careful with moisture so that most of the powder pellet is burned at a consistant rate. I personally feel that making sure the black end of the pellet is towards the primer and not crushing the pellet when ramming the bullet down, is more important. .....popgun Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
