Guest Andrea
Got this Sunday afternoon. Thought I was going to die after helping drag this thing thru the swamp back to the truck. Next time I'll shoot a much smaller one.

Guest Andrea
LOL.......that hog is rather huge actually. Never again will I wear insulated bibs to drag a hog thru the swamp. The temps were in the 50's but it felt like 100 to me.
cinch314
Oh man I know THAT feeling! Like when I wear my under armour and I finally get to the stand and Im sweltering but then I cool off and Im glad to have it. Yea that hog is quite big. Id hate to have to drag him out by myself. Guest Andrea
I want one of those game carts. At one point we floated him thru the backwater.....that helped a lot.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Nice hog Andrea. When they get that big around here, they start getting strong tasting, so I usually just leave them for coyote bait. I'll backstrap the smaller ones though. As I recall, you have been pretty good this year:cool:, maybe you are on the "nice" list and the big guy in the red suit will visit you this year. oneshot
Way ta go Andrea!!! Nice pig!!!! I've never hunted pigs before but I have an itch that has to be scratched, so I've been lookin into a hunt up in WI. Would you edumacate (good word huh) me about the big boar thing and why you got rid of your cookware because of it. What's a good size pig for eatin? I'm not into trophy hunting except for my belly. Guest Andrea
Thanks guys.......... Oneshot, the reason why I had to throw away the cookware is beause boars have a really pungent smell to them. And nothing you do makes it smell any better. It permeates everything it touches.....including pots and pans. I can't eat it. I can't stand to smell it being cooked. Sows are different. They don't stink and they are edible. And you can save your frying pan afterwards. Some folks say if you "neuter" the boar immediately after killing it, the smell won't be as bad. Well, I can assure you.........with or without his baggage.....it still stank.

Guest Andrea
A male is a male....they are nasty regardless of size. Unless of course, you trap a baby and then pen it up and corn feed for a year or so.
