Just look for a pink bow near it's ear...that would be a sow.:D:D:D

We shoot them all......because there ARE some folks who eat boars. They appreciate the meat. So kill one, if it's a boar, try it.......you may be one of those people. :D:D:D

Got this picture from my trail cam. No pink bow but I think it might be a sow.

Do ya think this pig is teasing me?:D:D:D

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm one of those folks that eat boar hog, lol....barred(Nutless) is the best way for a boar hog, but if it isn't , it can and probably will be nasty, but if you soak the meat in ice for a few days (keep draining the water), then it's good...

We usually have a party for the hunters the last day of the gun hunts, this one woman swore she wouldn't eat the meat if it was a boar, we cooked it up and she had no clue.

out of all the hogs i have killed , only ne boar hog was worth throwing away....i didn't cut the fat off like I should have and it was so gross, stunk up the whole house....

We soak ours on ice for days.............neuter it beforehand also............I still can't eat it. Maybe they're doing it wrong..............

You need to stop killing them monsters, lol.....I'm sure you're doing it right, sometimes, they just stay nasty...I make sure all of the fat is off of it and I soak them and i cook em, i cook them slow , BBQ, make sure you drain before adding the sauce, smoker, well i do nothing special...

That's a HOG......literally! :D:D:D Way to go, Andrea! As for the cart, that's not a bad thing to get. When Dad, my uncle and I were out hunting pronghorn by Belle Fourche this year we stopped by the Cabela's in Rapid City. We decided to do a three-way split and bought one for a measly $33.33 each. Boy did it come in handy! I was the only one who used it that trip, however, because Dad didn't shoot one and Uncle Dave had his yearling goat within a hundred yards or so of the truck two minutes into shooting light. :D:D:D I dumped my buck and doe about a half mile away from the truck and man was it nice being able to wheel both goats in one trip without any difficulty! :) I'd say it's a good idea for you to invest in one, Andrea. :)

Dakota :)

I missed this post, too! I must of been hunting... Way to go, that is one big pig. A game cart does come in handy, but then if you drag those out often enough in insulated bibs you might be able to scrap the diet.....You look good in that picture...;)
Thanks................but I couldn't even budge that pig by myself. He woulda had to lay there and rot.:D:o:o:rolleyes:
