Turkeygirl
Well ladies, it's almost Thanskgiving....what are your plans? Staying home? Going elsewhere? Are you in charge of the meal? Doing any shopping the day after? lol I'll be staying home, probably hunting most of the day, we'll have dinner, which will be my spring gobbler, can't wait. Other than that, not much other than relaxation and catching up on school work.
Alisha
Well, the past few years I have always been at my Aunt and Uncle's house because rifle season opens on Monday, the week of Thanksgiving. Buuuut, since the weather was so poor yesterday and today.... as well as tomorrow, I passed on going up there this year. I'm hoping to get up there before next weekend to get a crack at a buck or at least a doe. We will be going to my Aunt and Uncle's on Thursday anyway to have Thanksgiving Dinner, as usual. The only thing I'm in charge of is eating.... and then clearing the table after everyone is finished.
aksheephuntress
....the kids and I are going to bring a few dishes to some native elder friends that aren't able to do their own cooking anymore...(they seem to look forward to our deep fried beaver, and blueberry pie...-I know, I know- I just don't care for pumpkin pie-) -We have a turkey thawing out, as we speak..... -and I like to make deviled eggs...and my turkey dressing with wild rice, oysters, and bits of moose liver....(it is better than it sounds!) -and then,...-just enjoying a quiet, snowed-in day with the spread on the table, and my family.... mrswtnhunt
Hubby cooked the turkey on the smoker yesterday. Will be a team effort with the other trimmings. Usually we have a big gathering either here or at our in-law's house but don't think we will be traveling d/t our middle daughter's recent surgery. Don't think she will be up for company either. Will just be the 5 of us this year. Our family tradition after we eat is to put up the Christmas tree. The girls look so forward to that every year. Will try to post some pics if I get a chance. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!
