darth289
Hey everyone, I picked up a 1187 SPS Super Mag over the weekend and would like to get a slug barrel for it. The one that came with it is for a wingmaster and won't work. I would like the rifled barrel with cantilever mount. If anyone has an idea for me other than spending $359 on one from Remington, please let me know! Thanks
birdhunter39
www.barrel exchange .com
bluelund79
Cheaper than dirt.com, Mid South Shooting Supply, Mid West Shooting Supply-any of these will keep you under $300. However, Remington Barrels seem to be the most expensive....Good luck in your search-maybe one of your local gun shops can be on the look out for you as well. darth289
Thanks guys! Do you by chance know what would be best? I'll spend the extra money if it's worth it on a Hastings or something like that. Thanks again
bluelund79
In all honesty, I'd just get the Remington barrel-you get a warranty, and there is no question on fit and finish. Did that this year getting a turkey barrel, cantilver slug barrel, and the sure shot stock to rejuvenate my old 870. Good luck, Eric

darth289
Cheapest so far http://www.impactguns.com/store/SS-41039.html
EKYhunter
If Hastings makes a barrel to fit your gun, get it! I've got one on an 870 and they shoot much better than the factory barrel. Get the Hastings, you won't be sorry!
darth289
From Hasting's site: "Remington® 11-87™. Barrels have 3" chamber. Fit any 11-87™ 12-ga. receiver. Guranteed to function with all 3" magnum slug loads. May not eject 2 3/4" loads." http://www.hastingsbarrels.com/12guide.html Yep now I'm confused. I thought the SPS Super Mag meant that a normal 11-87 barrel won't fit?
EKYhunter
I'd call them and ask. I don't how old the information Hastings has published is, but it might be that it was published prior to Remington making a 3.5" gun. Also, might check the Cabelas catalog. They carry Hastings barrels and might have some info listed concerning the 3.5" SPS. I'd definitely try to get the Hastings if it will fit your gun. I'm guessing it will.
