Dawg
So I get in my stand this morning at about 5:30. I begin to go over the basics, check all the contents in my pack to make sure I got everything, make sure my gun is loaded...etc etc etc. Then about 6:00 I realize something that ruined my whole weekend of hunting......I don't have my license or my hunter education card...I left them at the house. No big deal except....I'm in TEXAS and the house is in MISSISSIPPI..... I just recently moved to MS but still hold residence in TX so I travel back here to hunt, which hasn't been very much. About 3 weeks ago I left my wallet in my pants and washed it. I had everything laid out on the counter to dry and apparently forgot to put my license and HEC back in it. So much for my 3 days of hunting! Now I'll have to wait til Christmas before I can hunt again. AND on top of this my ole man said we had some trespassers on our property, he found a feeder that this person put up on a ridge by one of our stands in the back of the property. Sorry for the rant.......at least I can drown my sorrows with a turkey leg, some stuffing, and cranberry sauce! Tominator
Wow. Ohiobucks can tell you I'm pretty good about forgetting stuff. Forgot my bow one day while I was going, bowhunting of all things. I'd almost say have someone overnight your tags to you, might save a wasted trip. Alisha
Oh geez. I feel your pain. I went on a week long trout fishing trip one time with my Dad about 4 hours from home and the only things I was really responsible to bring were my license and HEC, and what do you think I forgot? Since then, that is the FIRST thing I grab before I leave to go fishing or hunting... and before I leave I probably check 3 or 4 more times to make sure it's there. Dawg
Call the dnr they can send you replacements, maybe even print them. Even with a duplicate copy, I still don't have my HEC but trust me I have thought about getting them anyway! I would have someone over night them to me but I only have 2 keys to my house and one is in my pocket and the other in my wifes purse........ Oh well, this gives me a reason to come back down next weekend.... Me and the ole man will hunt em hard then!
