Need some help!!!

so here's the situation, my cousin shot at a buck this evening, wasn't too sure of placement (pretty much because he was too excited, so he said) he definitely heard a loud swack, which is common with mechanicals. we took up track about an hour, hour and a half, and immediately found blood on ground and spraying on trees to the left...we found his arrow, and 8inches of it broke off, and soon after a couple beds full of blood...i'm guessing we might've pushed him, unfortunately, but we've got good snow up here so it won't be a problem taking up the track again...so theory is, he hit one lung or maybe shouldery blade? anybody have any experience with this kind of situation, help would be greatly appreciated

well, we looked for him again this morning, jumped him again maybe 50yds from where we stopped last night, still bleeding. i had to go to school, but my cousin tracked for miles. and yeah, i smelled the blood, no gut shot...judging by the position of the blood in the bed, it was pretty forward, maybe even brisket, i don't know anymore...they sure are tough animals though...thanks for the help guys.
