Thompson Center Omega

I bought the T/C Z5 Omega kit about 3 years ago. It had the rifle, and all the accessories that you would need to get started. All you need is powder and bullets and you're good to go.

Just make sure that you don't skimp on cleaning after every outing. I didn't do as good of a job cleaning as I should have last year and due to humidity in my basement and not taking the gun out in almost 8 months, I had some rust in the barrel. My fault, not the gun's.

For the money, you can't beat it. Especially, if you're just starting. Great gun and easy to load, shoot, and dis-assemble.

For the more budget minded, I bought a CVA Optima, and I also have the CVA Wolf. Both have been great guns, you just have to find the loads they like. Luckily, the Wolf eats the pellets the best, and the Optima takes the loose charges the best. Very fun getting those guns dialed in, and as stated previously, cleaning after you shoot and during shooting great increases the longevity of the guns. Also, read Bluelks post about getting started, it was a wealth of information to me last year when I really got into it. Good luck in your decision....Eric
