colorado bob Posted December 2, 2008 Report Share Posted December 2, 2008 It should be fun come next elk season. I'm going to take a young hunter up to my camp & hopefully show him how to hunt elk. I took his grand-father's 30/06 to the gun smith today. It's been in closet for over 30 years-----just want to make sure it's still OK to shoot. The kid's granddad knew what he was doing---it's sportized 03 Springfield with a Weaver side mount. Glass is a 4x Leupold. It should be fine-----but Dang that thing is HEAVY.
