does anyone know what grade school and middles school aged kids like to play on the nintendo wii? i am trying to get something together at the park i manage for kids, and we recently purchased the nintendo wii system. I am not a gamer whatsoever so i need some help with this. What do they like to play somewhat competitively or in tournament style? I know most of you are parents out there so please help me out...i'm desperate...:eek::eek:

i actually signed up on a gamer forum and asked this question....its been 2 days and it has not yielded one answer.:(

Our Wii came with a great little sports pack that includes bowling, baseball, etc. My kids, 4 and 5, love it. There is another one I just bought over the weekend at Costco that is called Outdoor Adventure. It comes with a pad on the floor that they move around on to control the characters on screen.

I think the Wii is fantastic for those days that the kids can't get outside (rain, freezing temps, 100 mph Jersey winds, etc.). That's about the only time they use it. My two sons wear themselves out in the running games and its fun to watch them. It also helps with their coordination skills. Not to mention, by the time we get home it is dark outside and we sometimes end up doing family bowling tournaments after dinner. So, I can't for the life of me see it as a bad subject unless people are allowing their kids to miss precious outdoor time playing video games.

Just bought one for the family (for Christmas so it is still in the box). It came with 2 Cabela's hunting games. I think my kids will like those.

Currently they take turns being the deer and hunter. Once one of them makes an "ethical shot" the other falls dead. It's very entertaining to watch (6 and 7 years old). They get all dressed up in camo and everything.

Mario Party 8, MarioKart, Carnival games, there are a bunch of "party" or multi-player gaems out there that are fun for all ages. go to gamestop.com and click on Wii, from there you can cick on the game genre you are looking for, party, educational, puzzle etc...(you can also buy used games there)

i'm not sure on the ages you are looking at, but the guitar hero games and rockbands are pretty fun. a bit pricey for the bundles though.
