crazylegz70
I know that I havent been contributing to the site that much lately, but this is the first place i could think to go to for some prayers. Says something about the community here.... I just took my dog to the vet for her yearly checkup and she has had a bump above her tail that I have been worrying about, well you guessed it, they ran the tests today and she has a spreading tumor. Luckily, they did the x-rays of her chest and abdomen and we seem to have caught it early enough that it hadnt got into her organs. Please keep her in your prayers in the next few days. We are awaiting the bloodwork for her liver functions and hopefully that checks out ok. If it does, just gonna spend christmas at the vets office. Just sucks when you make 5k a year and vet says surgery is $800 bleh! I know it seems silly, but i wouldnt have cared if they said 10k to help the dog, she is only 6 Also, if anyone wants to see pics of the bump to compare to something their pet might have, i am more than happy to send them. Use this as a warning if anything...get your dog/cat checked if you suspect anything weird... You guys prolly remember me posting pictures when I first came on here and asking everyone to post their family pets? Same puppy Well, just keep us and her in your prayers please....you have no clue what this dog means to me

pointing_dogs_rule
Actually I do know what your dog means to you, because my dogs mean that much too me. I am a DVM. What type of tumor does the dog have. There are malignant and non-malignant tumors. I am sure the DVM has done a biopsy or will send the tumor in for diagnosis. Hold out hope that the tumor is non-malignant or in a non life threatening location. Good luck and keep me updated the dog

crazylegz70
All the vet told me was that she had a mast-cell tumor. Didnt say much, but they were doing xrays to make sure it didnt spread to her abdomen or upper chest...

GWSmith
Prayers - You got them!!! I hope the "DogDoc's" have caught this in time. I have a pretty good understanding how much your Dog means to you...They become members of the family! The Wife and I lost our Beagle last Fall. We got him from a shelter in Florida and they estimated his age around 1-1/2yrs old. When he died he was around 7 yrs old. He ate some grass(sprayed by the neighbor with weedkiller) along the fence in our backyard and he died 3 days later. When I mention to my Wife how I'm thinking about another dog or puppy it's apparent how painful the loss was from the tears. We end up laughing about some of the goofy stuff he did around the house...but for right now theres not much chance of a replacement. crazylegz70
Well, I got the call today from the DVM and he said that Jessie's liver count was high, but everything else checked out. She is scheduled for surgery in a week. They are going to check the bloodwork again in 6 months and see what happens
