cinch314
How can people do stuff like this to each other? Right now I only know of 2 that have been stolen but why would someone want to take a deer that had been harvested by someone else?
hutchies
Cinch.....................Nathan and the other guy aren't the only 2. There are more that have happened from there in the past.
cinch314
That just plain sucks! You figured they would have a surveillance system up or something.
Gator
Cinch.....................Nathan and the other guy aren't the only 2. There are more that have happened from there in the past. If that is the case, could it be someone that works there? Where are the racks kept?
MCH
It happens often. Especially at the small hometown processors. We have a local one that keeps the door to his hanging room unlocked. So hunters can drop off their deer at night or on days he's not there. If he was just catering to ethical hunters it would probably be OK, but the majority of the big deer killed in this area are killed by poachers. Sad but true. And if they'll poach a deer, what's to keep them from stealing one that's already dead????
hutchies
Actually he does leave the door open for people to bring deer in at night. I also found out he has been letting guys go back into the cooler and pickup their own meat............
tp793
Sounds like a bad idea all around on the processors part. He definetely needs to start locking the place up and only allowing people to pick up and drop stuff off when he is there.

Tominator
Why do people keep using that processor then?

ruttinbuc
Why do people keep using that processor then? That is my question. You'd think the word was out. We have open doors at a couple places here, but I have never heard of any heads getting ripped off. Maybe it is because of video surveillance 24/7.... ntrout
Ruttinbuc i promise you,i will not take anymore there nor will anybody else i know if i have anything to do with it. My rack that they got wasn't no monster but it was an eye catcher it had 4 on the right side and about a 12inch spike on the left.
cinch314
I had never heard of the capes getting stolen until this year. This year is also the first time that I have ever used a processor, the one that the capes were stolen from to be exact.

Right now I only know of 2 that have been stolen but why would someone want to take a deer that had been harvested by someone else? It is the same type of scum that trespass, poach, and steal; and they give hunters a bad rap. Unfortunately we have some of those types around here too, I would not/will not call them hunters, I could think of a better choice of terms for them.
