Al3006
I just bought a used Browning semi-auto (BAR) in 7mm Rem. Mag. I have shot a Remington Model 742 .30-06 for the last 40 years and enjoyed that calibre greatly. For the last # of years I have been using Remington Premier A Frame 180 gr.and have had outstanding results on both deer and moose. I know that there is a Remington 160 gr. A Frame & I am leaning on trying that but am open to recommendations. Any personal experiences, comments on this firearm and what bullets & weight to use in the 7MM Rem. Mag shell for whitetails and moose would be appreciated. I will be using factory ammo. Thx Al Edited December 4, 2008 by Al3006
mailmanmark
7 Rem Mag Try looking at the Federal Premium 140 TSX. I've had excellent luck with this bullet in a .270 . I personally prefer Fed Prem compared to Rem ammo. I find that it's more consistent for factory ammo. BTW you're gonna love the BAR compared to the remmy auto. I've had mine since 1996 and it has performed flawlessly. Have fun.
High Country
My preferences in 7mm Remington Magnum are: Winchester Supreme 150 gr BST for whitetail...impressive up close and out past 300 yards... Federal Premium 160 gr Nosler Partition for anything bigger (except the big bears...go with a .338 Mag) including elk and moose. My Savage M110 shoots 1/2 MOA with either load.
