ilhnter
Well my wife was the only one that didn't kill a deer during the first 3 days of IL shotgun season. So this morning we got up and got set up. We weren't there 20 mins when this buck and a little spike came up the ridge about 20 yds from our position. She put the crosshairs on him and let him have it. He ran maybe 30 yds or so and piled up. He was a little eight pointer, but both G2's were busted off as well as his G3 on one side. So he actually only had 5 points. This is her 2nd deer ever and I think I get more excited when she kills a deer then when I do. I was so pumped for her. Good luck to everyone elso out there hunting these 2nd 4 days in IL. Here is her with her buck.

tp793
Congrats to her. Is that a really dark buck, or is that just me?
ilhnter
He was really dark in the face and had a light brown patch on top of his head and he had a lighter brown body. He must have been a fighter too. He had almost all his points busted off, had a huge bald spot on his back, and one of his ears had a long cut in it. For a younger deer he must have been rutting pretty hard. His neck was extremely swollen IMO for a young deer and he stunk something awfull.
