Ravin R10 man
I just got the story on this giant black bear. In Dunn County north of Menomonie a farmer was combining corn and ran over this bear in a den. The den was a hole in the ground covered with corn stalks and the combine drove right over the den killing the bear. This story was confirmed by Steve Olson today, Steve works for St. Croix County Land and Water Conservation Department and lives about 2-miles from the farm where the bear was killed. Steve had a large bear on trail camera a couple of years ago, this may or may not have been the bear. This was about 25-miles east of Baldwin. My dad hit this bear in with the combine last Wednesday night about 20 miles north of Menomonie. Hanging weight (no insides) of this bear was 618 pounds. Rough measurements from head to tail (no legs) 7 feet and around the heart girth he was 6 ft around.

RangerClay
This picture looks odd to me. What is it hanging from? I don't see a rope or chain.

LifeNRA
Very big bear! The email I got from the PGC on our bear season stated PA had 10 bears killed over 600 pounds this year, one was over 700 pounds. So far, the top 10 bears processed at check stations through Tuesday all had estimated live weights exceeding 600 pounds. Morgan C. Neipert, of Tobyhanna, harvested the largest bear, which was a male that weighed in at 716 pounds (estimated live weight). The bear was taken in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County, at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 25. So far, the total bear harvest of 3,004 for the two seasons preliminarily ranks as the fifth highest statewide harvest. However, with the extended bear season in certain Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) continuing through Dec. 6, the total preliminary harvest will increase. Ravin R10 man
Ive seen a bear this size here...thought it was the neighbors black angus at first!! I dont know everything on this photo...but its a good possibility the story and bear are not a hoax. This came from a state DATCP employee, and he got it from a Dept. of Ag Agent in that County. HUNTINGMAN
To bad such a majestic creature had to meet his end this way, it has lived a long life only to be taken this way.He would have looked better with a muzzy sticking in him before he went in the freezer.
