Jorden
Amen to that, bluelund. I'm at 4 now. Probably have to wait a couple of more years. Nice to see someone from down the road on here. They are raising the number of tags next year so there is a good chance that you will get one;)
Buckslayer
Not sure if the rope goes under the front legs.. it might, the bear might also be pretty stiff. Its a good story though, whether its real or not.
hammerforged
According to Snopes this is real and there have been 2 other recorded cases of this happening in the same area. The other 2 were back in Novmeber of 2006 and both of those were good size bears 400 and 600 pounds. It appears that the bears dig their dens in the middle of the cornfields and with the corn being harvested later and later each year the DNR says that there will likely be more occurances such as these. NY_Bowhunter14
what a monster of a bear! hope the story is true, and this picture isn't photochopped...

Doe-ee
That is obviously, a huge black-bear, and not just a blown up photochop job. Anyone who knows bears can see that, by the shear size of it's skull, and ears, and space between the ears. The lady in the background is going to look smaller, just because of the way the picture was taken. It's not a far fetched story, by any means, but I haven't been able to verify it. It has happened before, as you can see below. Bear vs. Combine - True (but the stories keep getting changed) Part #1 http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_bear_vs_combine.htm Part #2 http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_bear_vs_combine2.htm Part #3 http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_bear_vs_combine3.htm Another Bear vs. Combine - True http://www.bear-hunting.com/news.cfm?Action=News&NewsFlashID=

Adjam5
Wow that bear is HUGE! I would think a bear would den up a little deeper in the earth or cave. Living on corn, animals can get humongous.
