dartonman
I have been blessed with an average paying job, and a much better than average family of 5 kids, and a great wife......I just want to challenge some forum members to do a very, very simple and inexpensive thing this season of giving......when your out shopping, go somewhere like Wal mart or K Mart.....and purchase the inexpensive gloves for kids...ie, less than 2-3 dollars a pair, and hats.....purchase what you can afford, and drop it off at a local school.....folks, Im telling ya....its greatly appreciated....there are kids that dont have the simplist things and really could use them.....thanks and God Bless everyone..............Im playing elf this week...............al
wtnhunt
That is cool Al, and a good idea. Things are kinda tight for us this year with medical expenses, but the wife has picked a few names for residents off the angel tree at her work. Amazingly sad that many of the elderly have no family who give them gifts for Christmas.
stevebeilgard
my wife also picks 2-3 names off the angel tree each year. has done it for 35-40 years now. each kid gets his list and more. rilda just loves to shop. we also pick one name from the v.a. hospital in buffalo and get them a few things. they mostly like books or a razor... simple things we all take for granted. okiedog
Awesome idea Al. I run a hardware store and just ordered tons of youth and small gloves to go give to the local schools. Thanks for the great idea!

AdvantageTimberLou
We usually buy for a local family in need in my area. Makes it great giving to others as this is the season for it. Plus I hate seeing people going without, especially kids!!
NS whitetail
we give to the foodbank and we also take 2 names off of the Christmas tree at a local store for kids in need This year for my parents and my wife's, instead of buying them something, we are going to buy goats and chickens through World Vision in their names.
