Ahunter61
Hi everyone, I,m putting together a new website and would like your opinions, After years of trying to locate outfitters by searching the internet I had collected a large list of outfitters and decided to put them together in a useful way. You can check it out at www.conneroutdoors.com , I'm a one man operation building the site in my spare time and the site is completely free for both the hunter and outfitters to use. Any comments or suggestions would be apreciated, Thanks Pete

stevebeilgard
i was just going to do the same question. he's actually spamming for a new site, but it's a hunter/outfitter service with no money requested. so, is it actually a spam or legit?? i went to the site, and he's advertising realtree. hmm. Ahunter61
how can I be spam I don't charge for anything on my site, I'm just looking to make finding an outfitter easier , you can't spend any money on my website. jeez people are jumping to conclusions, I just wanted some opinions , Thanks anyway
Swamphunter
I don't think anyone is jumping to conclusions, thats why the mods haven't banned you. We like what you are doing for as far as creating a website for reputable outfitters, but usually when someone signs up, they have a few posts under their belt before they "redirect" you to their website. Time will tell your intentions as to whether or not you hang around or just advertise and leave. Thats all... Pull up a chair and visit awhile... lots of good guys here

Ahunter61
If i was spamming what would I gain, if you visit my site it won't make me any money nor will it improve my rankings in the search engines, I only look for objective opinions on making my site more user friendly, I am the owner of the site and I am just 1 guy here on cape cod, if you believe that going to my site is some sort of a scam than please don't visit, but if you love hunting as I do than I hope you can enjoy the information that it provides

stevebeilgard
welcome to the forums. i like your site, and think you have a good idea. one problem i see is that crummy outfitters as well as the good ones can sign up. maybe all outfitters should be a member of their state's outfitters association to sign up. that would be a good start that may deter some of the deralics. Adjam5
We don't want to beat you up...we want to be your friend:) You have been spoken to... by the Realtree elders:p, the rules are clear. Once someones intentions are determined, rope is either given or taken away. Our mods here, act in Nano seconds...Right Swampy:D So, welcome to the forums and come meet some of the BEST people walking the earth. Good Luck with your site and what Steve said, I agree with. Make all outfitters be recognized by the state. That way you'll weed out the bad ones.
Ahunter61
thanks for the input, to clarify things I did not come here to promote my site, I came here looking for hunters to give me there opinions on how to make my site better for You the hunter, It does me no benefit to promote my site through forums. Yes I get people to view my site but that has zero effect on my ranking with any search engine. search engines base there ranking on one way links to your site from other web sites, and placing a link here in a forum is not even considered by any of the major search engines, that being said, I differ with the suggestions about bad outfitters being able to list there sites, first my site is open to any outfitter there is no fees and is not based on an outfitter paying me to list them, I offer anyone to submit a review good or bad about any outfitter they have hunted with, and I will post that review in their infowindow, so if there is a bad outfitter listed and there are bad reviews about them you will have that information which will help weed out the bad from good and help decide who to hunt with and who not to, there are plenty of good outfitters that do not belong to any organisation and that should not be a deciding facter to list them or not, you will still need to do your home work and call referances and fully check out an outfitter before booking with them I am not a referral site I only provide you with options, the only reason I choose to come here to ask for opinions is I have hunted with Mr. Jordan, Mr Blanton Mr. Wardell and Mr Childress and hold them in the highest respect, but due to some e-mails I have recieved from my site from people that went to my site from the link posted here I would like anyone with the power to pull this post, and I apologize for having upset the local crowd, Thanks Pete
