tedicast
After a year long battle with the town our club is located in, we finally got to the building stage of our clubs addition. We had an open pavilion off of our clubhouse with a fireplace that was about 22' x 36'. We are enclosing the pavilion, and extending it another 36 feet. This will give us a place to shoot in doors, plus it will allow us to expand our yearly game dinner. In past years the pavilion was enclosed with temp framing, and plastic sheeting for our dinners. You were either sweating sitting near the fireplace, or freezing in one of the corners. This addition is gonna be a huge boost to the club, plus it is being done at no additional cost to our members. Here are some pics from this weekends framing.... A look at the addition from the outside The pavilion has been framed in, and the addition walls are framed... Planning a little strategy, and trying to suck up some heat from the fire. It was cold today, and the wins at times made it unbearable... Removing the ugly old plywood from the ceiling in the existing pavillion... Soon to be our 20 yard indoor range. I can't wait!!! .... After being at the club working the past 2 days from 7 am 'til dark, I am absolutely exhausted. Not used to working that hard...lol. But, I had a blast!!! Next weekend we will be installing the windows and the doors, and putting up the T-111 siding. The trusses are scheduled to be delivered on the 19th, so they should be up on the 20th. We hope to have the addition weather tight by the first of the year. If all goes well. I'll update with pics again next week.

tedicast
Algonquin Archers.....New Look!!! updated 12/28/05 Here is an update on Algonquins addition. Last week we had a snow delay. The week before we installed windows, and put up about half of the exterior siding. The other half is back ordered. Here are some siding pics... Yesterday we set all the trusses. We only had 7 people, but got all the trusses up in a little over 3 hours. Here is the addition with the trusses up... I can't wait to be shooting paper in here!!!!... Today we were sheathing the roof. We expected a larger group of members, but ended up with 9 including my wife Jen. Some misc. sheathing pics... L to R, Jack, Jared, and Brian... Me... Mike, and Dave in their supervisory roles ;D ... Dave, Mike, and Bob...Come on...3 guys to cut one piece of plywood???? .... coffee break... On top of sheathing, we had to hump 12 square of shingles up to the peak. I am so ready for bed!!! This coming week the roofing will be completed. Hopefully next weekend we will have the rest of the siding, and the electrical will be roughed in.

tedicast
Algonquin Archers Addition update 2/7/089 Well, I've gotten a little behind on updating the club progress. We are in really good shape. Here are pics from the past month. Jack in action.... electrical rough-in... Charlie, and I doing the soffits... Jack checking up on us... Dave, Jay, and Mike covering the roof... This past weekend we had an absolutely incredible member turn-out. We had a ton of work to do, sheetrocking the ceiling, and putting up the T-111 on the walls. It was good to see so many members helping out. and we got everything done in one day. Here are pics from throughout the day of the inside work... Here is a pic of the outside with all the siding done, and the doors installed... This project has come a long way in 2 months of mostly working weekends, and being all member built.

tedicast
Last night was our clubs annual game dinner. It was the first event in the completed addition. We seated 164 without crowding. It was a very succesfull night for our club. First course was Squirrell Soup, Fish Chowder, Moose Chili, and Venison ribs. Second Course was Salad, Penne paste with Red Sauce and Wild Boar Sausage, And Bowtie Pasta, with white sauce and venison sausage. The Third course was mixed veggies, Venison Meatballs with onions and peppers, Barbecued Rabbit, Wild Turkey, Red potatoes and sweet potatoes mix, and Venison Roast The dessert table was unbelievable. All member donated, and 90% home baked!! Everyone definitely got their $30 worth. Here are some random pics of the dinner, and the completed addition. The completed addition, set up for 164 guests...
