fly
I took my 08 buck to a new taxi a couple weeks ago and was impressed with his shop (some of it anyway). Pleanty of mounts to examine that helped me make my decision regarding the type of mount I wanted. As I looked through the various mounts the taxi had several large RACKS calanders up as well. Perhaps your not familiar with these? If not then that's good. However, I'm seeing more and more of these infiltrating the hunting community. I take hunting seriously and take my time in nature to strengthen my relationship with God. I don't mix hunting with things I wouldn't do or see in church. (Granted I don't shoot animals in church, but I think you get my point). Anyway, I would like to take my 7 year old daughter to see the mounts at the taxi when I pick up the antlers in a couple weeks, but won't because of the calanders. I'm not even sure if I'll go to this taxi again. The wierd thing is that I believe the lady that works in the shop is his wife. My wife will at times tell me I'm overreacting to things. I'd ask her about it, but I prefer she doesn't even know these things exist. What's your take on this?
cinch314
I know what you are talking about. I work in an office with 7 guys and they have up them racy type posters and I dont like them but hey my boss put them up so what can I say. I just will not subject my child to seeing them type of things. That is the way I was raised and that is how I want to raise my child. EricF
I have 40 people working for me and I don't tolerate any type of 'racy' calenders/pics/language in the workplace. Three of my folks are female. If either sex can be offended by the material...then the material don't go up, period. I know some women will say they're fine with...but in all honestly, I really don't think they are 'truely' fine with it. Beyond all that, I think every state's EEO office has rules concerning such things in the workplace and/or place of business...the federal government certainly does. Guest Andrea
I agree with you not taking your child. Kids notice EVERYTHING.
Dakota
I know what you mean, we have them on display on the gun counter at work. I always feel uncomfortable when guys come in with their kids back there, and I shouldn't have to feel that way in an outdoors store. The outdoors industry needs to be family oriented, considering we are trying to reach out to our nation's youth to be the next generation of outdoors men and women. DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS!!!! mrswtnhunt
I wouldn't take my daughter if I were you. Kids have to grow up way too fast nowadays and you are going to have to answer "questions" soon enough. Don't rush it. Hey, take her to Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, Great Outdoor Store or any other type of outdoor store. The ones around here have all kinds of mounts that my kids love to see. Turkeygirl
Don't take your kid....maybe take a camera and take some photos of the deer....and tell the guy when you pick up your mount that you won't be seeing him again because you don't support his interest choices decortating the shop....
