cinch314
Ok for Christmas I was thinking about getting my boyfriend and his two girls gift cards from either Cabelas or Walmart (that way they can pick out what they want) but on my boyfriend the other day he said something about wanting a jigsaw so I thought Id get that for him. My question is about the girls, Walmart is the closest to us and Cabelas is like a 3 hr drive. Should I go ahead with the $30 (single mom Ive got to watch what I spend) Walmart card for them (16 and 12) or just do the Cabelas? Also on the jigsaw I saw where Walmart has a Black and Decker one for like $45 but I've heard that DeWalt makes better equipment. What do yall think? Jeramie
I prefer DeWalt but the price difference will be pretty big. However, if he is like me he will use it every great now and again. That being the case the B&D will be fine. If he uses it for a living the B&D wont last long. And yes, I would get them Wally world cards. There is something for everyone at Wally World. Add the three hour drive and its a no brainer to me. They may not be able to use the Cabellas cards for quite some time.
Randy
Black and Decker makes DeWalt. Dewalt is just a better tool. A far as the certificates for your kids, they'd have more fun spending it right away right down the road...
fly
I don't know the girls, but my guess is that there would be more items they would like at Walmart. DeWalt makes great products. I have a 12 volt cordless DeWalt drill that I love. However, I have a Black and Decker jigsaw that has done every job i've needed it to and costs less than 1/2 what a DeWalt would cost. Buying the Black and Decker would be more practical. Buying the DeWalt would get a bigger reaction. Good luck!
cinch314
I just priced the DeWalt at a feed store I used to work at and it is $123 for a heavy duty compact with variable something. He MIGHT be getting the Black and Decker because the DeWalt is a little outta my price range and I dont know how often he'd use it.

unioncountyslayer
Check out Ryobi saws. Priced cheaper than DeWalt.
Randy
what about this one? http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00979575000P?vName=Tools&cName=Portable+Power+Tools I don't know much about Craftsman Cinch. I would think it would be ok. Sears does have gift certificates as well. Maybe let him pick out his own?
stevebeilgard
i'd surely go with the wal mart cards for the girls. as much as a jig saw would be used, go with the cheapest. dewalt is excellent, as is sears. but black & decker is a good, cheap unit.
