wtnhunt
What makes the ipods so much better that they are so much more expensive than other mp3 players for what they are, or are they any better? Our 7 year old wants an ipod for Christmas, think I can get a name brand mp3 player with 4 times the memory for about the same price as the ipod, so why get the ipod? hammerforged
William; Primarily it is name brand recognition and availability of acessories that make the IPOD so popular. I have the ZEN by Creative Labs - 8 gig of memory plus an SD card slot, both of my daughters had an IPOD and sold their IPOD and bought a ZEN after I got mine. download interface for the ZEN is easier to navigate than that of the IPOD imo. the ZEN can be had at Radio Shack or even Walmart now or direct from Creative's web site. wtnhunt
Thanks Ross. I think I saw the zen's as well as some others at wal mart earlier today. Thinking we will probably not go with the ipod.
crazylegz70
I have a "Creative" brand mp3 player (they make the Zen) and I can honestly say that I love it. It is older so it doesnt have the full color screen but the functionality is great. I using it when push mowing so you can imagine it gets dirty, sweaty and everything else and it still works. They make a quality product for the money...YOU WONT BE DISSAPPOINTED!!!
RangerClay
William, My daughter is 6. Last year we got her the "Barbi" mp3 player. It holds a bunch of her favorite songs and it was fairly inexpensive. She loves it.
