The Kid Posted December 12, 2008 Report Share Posted December 12, 2008 well i decided that my 8 year old brother doesn't need anymore toys i want to get him something that is going to last for a long time,, so my first thought was to get him a pellet gun, a nice one, but he already has one and if i'm going to spend a hundred bucks on a pellet gun i might as well spend a little more and get him a real gun, so my next thought was to get him a .22 cricket,, i really think this would fit him really good right now but i think in a year or two hes just going to grow out of it.. the cricket that i was looking at was around 130 too,, but then i saw this .17 hmr and thought he would be able to grow into really nice,, and i could use it too :rolleyes::D:D, the price on that one is about a hundred bucks more,, what do you guys think about this??? thanks,, drew Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Adjam5 Posted December 12, 2008 Report Share Posted December 12, 2008 I started my little guys out with the .22 Crickett. That gun has now become the gun I take with me on my trap line. I would go with the .22 solely on the cost of the ammo. This is a great gun to get a kid started. I think I paid $99 at a gun show for it. Also, I feel it is a safer weapon as the pellets will not go near as far as a single projectile. If you're stuck on the .22 I'd get just a .22 LR but, that's just me...
