Thanks. I see your a Hoyt shooter so thats better. What would you say is the best Hoyt bow to get. I am a 15 year-old with a roughly 29.5 inch draw length and a 60 pound draw weight. I am looking for something not as expensive as the Alphamax. I was pretty much looking for something like the Katera or the Vectrix. What bow do you recommend? Email me at [email protected] cause I would like to ask you something else as well. Thanks.

Sonny

I'll help ya out here Tim ... ;)

There's not a whole different between the Vectrix and the Katera ...

Katera Specs ....

IBO SPEED (fps) ..... 330

AXLE TO AXLE ......... 33"

MASS WEIGHT ........ 4.5 lbs.

WEIGHT RANGE ...... 40# - 80#

WHEEL ................... Z3 CAM & 1/2 System

BRACE HEIGHT ....... 6"

DRAW RANGE ......... 24" TO 30"

LETOFF .................. 65 TO 75 %

VECTRIX SPECS ....

IBO SPEED (fps) ..... 316

AXLE TO AXLE ......... 33"

MASS WEIGHT ......... 4.4 lbs.

WEIGHT RANGE ....... #40 - 80#

WHEEL .................... Zephyr Cam & 1/2 System

BRACE HEIGHT ........ 7"

DRAW RANGE .......... 25" TO 31"

LETOFF ................... 75 TO 80 %

The Vectrix ended up being the supped up version of the Trykon .. ;)

Either of these bows are a butt kicker, but as Tim has indicated you will want to visit your local dealer and shoot both of them and maybe even pick up the NEW ALPHAMAX and give it a try or two ... :D;)

My bow shop doesnt allow test-drives. Its a look and buy place.
I'm not a "Pro Staffer" bud but, I'd find a place that'll let you shoot a few different bows. This is an "expensive" investment that you need to be happy with for a few years. Make sure the bow that you buy is one that will fit your needs for that... Just My $.02 ;)

I agree fully Steve .. a Pro Shop that won't let you test drive an expensive investment isn't much of a Pro Shop IMHO .. ;)

Its not a problem. I was just wondering if anyone was in VA that knew a good pro shop. The place I get my bows at is personable and helpful. They fit your bow for you. I think im gonna get a Katera. I really like it. What do yall think? Katera or Alphamax?
I'm not sure you understand what we are trying to tell you. You really need to shoot them before you buy one. There are things each bow has, or doesn't have that you will like and or dislike. Take our advice and go shoot them somewhere, we will not tell you which one to get because we want what is the best one for you. Only you know what that one is after shooting it. Get what feels the best to you. Bowhunting isn't about brandnames. It's about feeling comfortable. ;)
