Randy
Yall are kinda sarcastic. Sorry bud, I may have stepped out of line trying to help out the "real" prostaffers in their forum. Hang on a minute,.......Hey Mr. Waddell, which bow would you get. This guy wants to know... He'll be right with you....
Hoyt fanatic
I take that back. Yall are really sarcastic.
Randy
I take that back. Yall are really sarcastic. Look,... you asked a question and we are really trying to help you. You seem to have your heart set on a Katera so go ahead and buy it if that's what you want. Nobody here is going to stop you from doing that. The bottom line is, you asked for advice when you already had your mind made up... Good luck with your new Katera.

Hoyt fanatic
I realize Randy was probably right but I do not have the resources to be able to shoot the bow. I have a 2007 Hoyt Avenger that I love so I am pretty lopsidded towards Hoyts. A friend of mine is trying to get me to get a Mathews but I just think they look and feel somewhat sub-par. just my $0.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I'm sure there are pro shops around that will let you shoot the bows. Check the website for hoyt, mathews, or whatever, they should have a place where you can check for dealers in your area. Just because you go and shoot one there, doesn't mean you have to buy it from there, go and shoot em, your spending lots of $$ on it, you need to be sure it is something you want. A lot of people go into a shop thinking that they know exactly what type of bow they want, and end up buying something totally different after shooting a few different ones. Hoyt, Mathews, Bowtech, all make great bows.
hutchies
Not a Pro but I will tell you that you can get the Vetrix much cheaper than the Katera or Alphamax and it has a 7 inch brace height which will be more forgiving than the Katera. Check other dealers as well........One of the local shops here is clearancing the 08 Katera and Katera XL's for $
Hoyt fanatic
My shop isnt having a clearence because the 08 and 09 Kteras are the same.
VermontHunter
My shop isnt having a clearence because the 08 and 09 Kteras are the same. I think what hutchies is saying is that they are clearing out the 08' models to make more room for the new models of 09' like the ALPHAMAX ... $475.00 is like $300 less than I paid for my Katera .. heck of a price .. Hoyt fanatic
They are $590 at my shop.
Tominator
I'm not a "Pro Staffer" bud but, I'd find a place that'll let you shoot a few different bows. This is an "expensive" investment that you need to be happy with for a few years. Make sure the bow that you buy is one that will fit your needs for that... Just My $.02 Yup

Spanky72
Hey I'm from VA and both Bass pro shops and Green Top will let you shoot there bows. And on a side note I thought I had to have a Hoyt trykon when I held it. But I ended up going with a Hoyt PowerTec. And I am very happy with it. Not sure where you are but these shops are in Glen Allen.
Hoyt fanatic
That works perfectly. I didnt know Green Top let you shoot their bows. Green Top is like my second home. As for Bass Pro, I didnt see any Hoyts so I will just go to Green Top cause I might get a Mathews but thats where I draw the line. Hoyt or Mathews are the two best and thats all Im gonna go with.
