LifeNRA
While walking around Cabela's last week, I stopped and was looking at the ice fishing shacks. I was thinking one day I would like to have one of these. Some of them reminded me of the pop-up blinds that we hunt from. Then it hit me! I have a blind, why not use while ice fishing! Has anyone ever used their hunting blind for ice fishing?

craig mack
If you do use a deer blind, just make sure that you anchor it to the ice.
muggs
A problem I could see is the blind freezing to the ice. If you have a heater running inside, the top inch of snow and/or ice usually melts while you're fishing and then re-freezes. If you don't have a plastic or wooden base it might be hard to get the materail the blind is made of free....could even tear it. Shappell sells some nice, light-weight shanties (you can find them at Gander) for around $180. They doulbe as a sled too haul your gear out there too. I'd recommend spending the $$. Guest shorty785
thats what my shack has is a little sled to put everything in but for the blind i always put pieces of plywood down for the blind to rest on

craig mack
Not a good picture of the whole thing but you have propbably seen one before. Its a cabin style 2 man. If I was you I would get a sled style one, they are easier to use. I think the one Clam makes is called the Voyeger. It comes with 2 padded swivel seats that sit on top of the sled. More $$$ but if you like to ice fish, you wont regret it.
