wtnhunt Posted December 16, 2008 Report Share Posted December 16, 2008 Last week I had to take our 7 year old daughter Nicole in for her follow up to her surgery. Due to where the incision was, the surgeon did not put a drain in at the time of the surgery, he said it was up too high in her chest. The doctor had to drain fluid from the area where the masses were removed from last Tuesday while we were in the office, which pretty tough for me to watch my daughter go through, and even though she never cried until after it was over she said she did not want to have to go through that again. She has more fluid built up again, it is actually worse now than it was last week. We are not really sure exactly what is going on, but we are taking her back in tomorrow. The doctor said it was not infected when we were there last week, but with not knowing what is causing the excess fluid and it not being reabsorbed like it should be we could really use some prayers for Nicole. If they are draining them via needles, it's no fun to go through let alone watch your baby go through it. Ask the doc if they can sedate using a little versed, that will reduce the anxiety.
