Preserve Hunt

Recommended Posts

Drug company took us on a preserve hunt this past week. Weather was PERFECT!!! Sunny, 20 degrees, light wind from the northwest and 6 inches of fresh snow.

Scent conditions were perfect.

Worked my German Shorthair (Browndog) in the morning and in the afternnon my 2 Wirehaired Pointing Griffons (Hank & Mike) in the afternoon.

Very cool. Did they have any exotic colored pheasants there? The one time I went on a preserve hunt, we took a couple of what I would call "golden" pheasants. Definitely looked a lot different than the native birds.

No, just normal birds. Did go on another sponsored hunt 2 years ago and they gave away a prize for the people who shot an all black or all white pheasant. Guess who shot both (LOL)!!!

good luck to all

congrats on the hunt , i mainly preserve pheasant hunt now a days , it's getting hard to find wild birds , before i started preserve hunting 3 years ago ( 21 years of hunting ) i had around 40 box's of shells unopened . now i hunt at a preserve i need to keep buying shells and have birds in the freezer . i will admit it does get expensive . but i have fun which is all that counts . congrats again on your hunt
