OMG--- Are you trying to tease me Shaun_300? Minnesota is currently not known... the DNR announces it closer to the fall. Usually late September... *dreams of sitting in the duck blind* I miss it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much already and it has been like 2 months closed. Why do we have to have such a short season!?

This is what we had this past season. It will be close to the same this year I would think.

General Duck Season

Season Length: 60 hunting days; plus 1 Youth Waterfowl Hunting Day

Season Dates: October 7, 8, 9 and 11. (Black Duck, Pintail, & Canvasback closed)

October 23 Youth Waterfowl Hunting Day (see below)

Nov. 20 – Dec. 4

Dec. 11 – Jan. 29 (Canvasback and Pintail open only Dec 27-Jan 29)

Bag Limit: Daily Bag limit of 5 ducks which may include no more than 4 mallards (which may include no more than 2 hen mallards), 3 scaup, 4 scoters, 2 wood ducks, 2 redheads, 1 mottled duck, 1 fulvous whistling duck, 1 black duck (except closed during Oct 7 - Oct 11), 1 canvasback and 1 pintail (during open season; Dec 27-Jan 29). Closed season on Harlequin duck. The possession limit is twice the daily bag limit.

Canada Goose Season

WESTERN ZONE:

Season Dates: Regular Season: November 20 - December 4

December 15 - January 14

Extended Season: January 15 – February 15

Bag Limit: 2 geese per day from Nov 20- Dec 4, and Dec.15 - Jan 14

5 geese per day from Jan 15 -Feb 15

Shooting Hours: 1/2-hour before sunrise until sunset daily.

EASTERN ZONE: (Back Bay Closed, see below)

Season Dates: November 20 – December 4, December 24 - January 29

Bag Limit: 1 goose per day from Nov. 20 - Dec. 4 and Dec. 24 - Jan. 6

2 geese per day from Jan. 7 – Jan. 29

Shooting Hours: 1/2-hour before sunrise until sunset daily.
