Best Christmas present, ever?

Well, I remember when I was a little squirt and living in the middle of Omaha. Dad was a youth pastor and we couldn't afford much, but I really wanted a beanbag chair and a Simba stuffed animal. Sure enough, when Dad woke me up in the wee hours of Christmas morning and we went down stairs there they were under the tree! I was either four or five and it remains to this day the best Christmas present ever...and then the dog claimed the beanbag chair...:D:D:D

Two stand out from my youth, but have to agree with William, the ones where your kids light up are special.

I remember getting my Daisy Red Ryder BB gun when I was about 10 or 11.

Christmas 1985 was good. I was still in the service, but I sold my car and had a lot of cash because I was living aboard the ship. So I flew home and spent over $1,000 on my mom dad and siblings. Had a lot of fun that year watching my family open the gifts I got them. We lost mom in March of 1986, so that was an especially poignent Christmas. :(

As a kid..............an Atari and a Walkman. :cool::cool::cool:

As an adult, Dec '92 I had an 8 lb 2 oz baby boy and in Sept '96 I had an 8 lb 12 oz baby boy.:):):) Christmases with them have been the best. ;)

If watching my kids' eyes light up qualified as a "present", I would have to agree.

But since that doesn't, I'd have to go with my first real gun. A .410 "Santa" brought me when I was 13. Still remember shooting it for the first time. Was one of the few white Christmas' I can remember as well.

All a matter of perspective Kevin. A gift or "present" does not have to be a material object. Christmas is about giving, the only better gift I can think of than seeing joy in my kids is the gift that God gave us all.

LMAO...appreciate the bold letters.:D

I'm just as thoughtful as the next person, I just don't feel the need to point it out as much as some.;)

first watching the kids open their gifts. now, we watch the grandkids. we'll get a call christmas morning and scurry 3 blocks away to our kids house and watch the 3 grandkids have fun. then, my son in law cooks breakfast. in the afternoon, it a prime rib & lobster dinner. should be a real good day. chruch will be on chirstmas eve. don't forget the reason for the season....

When i was a kid it was when my parents got me a remington 20 ga. i couldn't wait to hit the woods and do some squrriel huntin with my dad. I was 12 then and 15 yrs. later i still got the gun and it still looks brand new. Now that i have a son of my own it is seeing his cute little face light up when he rips the paper off his presents.

EXACTLY! Thank you for pointing that out Steve and William as well. Though we have made it a secular holiday, there would be no Christmas without the greatest gift of all born in a lowly stinky hay-filled manger in the little town of Bethlahem. Glory to Him in the highest and on Earth peace and goodwill towards Men. :) Although getting a Red Ryder BB gun when I was 12 was also a plus. :D:D:D
