My dad and I made a small donation to our local pheasant's forever and then bought a 50lb bag of really good dog food and donated it to the animal shelter and then gave $150 to the animal shelter so the the next person who came in to adopt a dog would get it for free. If it's a puppy it's $150 if it's a older dog its $100 so then the next dog after that is $50 off. My dad said it's his way of giving a dog life since our dogs was cut short......it was so hard to go there and see the pups but it was nice to do something so good.
