Turkeygirl
Alright, looking for some suggestions here. First of all, my Hoyt Rintec XL is suppose to go up to 50 lbs, but when I got it cranked the last time at a shop, they maxed it out and checked and it only said 48lb? Does this have something to do with the string or anything since it's a custom string and not factory? Second of all, I'm thinking of a new rest. I've shot a NAP Quicktune 1000 since I started archery, good rest, but I think I want to improve. I got a gift certificate to our local archery shop, they carry alot of Hoyt and what not, will have to see what they have, but any rests that you suggest? I'm looking for not too expensive, fairly easy to tune, but reliable/decent at least. I'd like to try and get rid of my 6 arrow Fuse quiver and go down to a 4 arrow quiver maybe... hutchies
The string has probably just stretched a litte.........Noq big deal just take it to the shop and ask them to set it back to factory specs.......They will twist up the cables and the string to set the cams back in time. Minor fix........ As for a rest........Check out the Trophy Taker SL or a QAD fall away...Both are dang rests. Honestly you might want to stick with that 6 arrow quiver.......Never know when you might need those 2 extra arrows.
HUNTINGMAN
I agree with the streched string,I have used a wisker bisquet since they came out and am very happy with it,they are simple with no moveing parts to go out of adjustment or tear up. I use this rest as well and have no intention of changing. My pro shop reccommends using feathers (not plastic vanes). They did a pass through test and found the plastic vanes wouldn't pass through the WB when dropped, where feathers would.

My vanes pass through the WB without any problems. Could you explain more on this please? Not busting you, I just am not understanding your sentence. What do you mean when dropped? HUNTINGMAN
Only problem I had was tearing my vanes up,I switched to blazer vanes three years ago and have not had another vane come off since.I think what he was trying to say is that if you hald your bow pointing toward the ground and droped an arrow through the rest the feathers have less reistance than the plastic vanes. Tink
Vane tec vanes will nevr crumple ona WB Gold tip arrow make the Vane Tec vane it will not deform ona WB If you get a Hostage rest the vanes dont touch the brushes onthe hostage Keep the 7 arrow quiver 4 is not enough if you wound a deer. I carry an 8 arrow bowquiver new isnt always better Tink
Adjam5
Ruth, I shoot the NAP quicktune3000 micro. I like it and I shoot it good, bit I too am looking at another rest for my Outback. I am thinking a dropaway like the Schaffer. This one is for the Hoyt you have. http://www.schafferarchery.com/tec1-arrow-rest.html But I have to admit the Wisker Bisquit and what it does, sounds very good. Let us know what you get. Turkeygirl
Well I'm still thinking about either a drop away or a Whisker Biscuit....I hear pros and cons of each so not sure...A fellow staff member at camp had a QAD on...I thought I remember it being noisy when he shot...maybe it was more his bow. Either way, my Hoyt is super quiet and I want it to stay that way:) I've also heard you lose speed with a WB and after like 30 yards the arrows drop a bit. I'd like to be able to shoot out to 40 for when I'm on 3D ranges. I've heard issues with both rests with cold weather, and bow season here tends to get into the 30s often) Any other input?
