fishing for eyes

If the lake has green cabbage weeds, that is where I start fishing them. I like to set tip-ups near where the weedline ends and drops off into deeper water. I also fish for perch, as Craig said, and perch love those areas too. I use wigglers for the jumbo's, and occasionally come up with a nice eye. #3 jigging Rapala's work nice, with a fathead or rosie red hooked on the treble. Drop it down to the bottom, and jig it up a foot or so. Experiment, as sometimes a fast jig works. Sometimes slow jig, or just leave it set works.

I just fish a small pinman style jig. Fish weedlines right at dusk and then into the night.

I seem to have my best luck with small glow in the dark jib, tipped with a live fathead minnow. You'll pick up crappie this way too.

btw- Jammin' jigs puts out great glow in the dark jigs. A google search will come up with their website if you're interested.
