c_lou
My Super Awesome wife got me a Wii for Christmas. I am looking for some good games that I could play. The kids love the Sports that came with it, but Dad likes a little more action. Any ideas?
MCH
Haven't got many "action" games with the Wii. I play Halo, Lost Planet and COD with the 360. My favorite Wii game right now is Boom Blox. Great game. Kind of similar to Jenga...only harder. Edited December 29, 2008 by MCH

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
House of the Dead:2 & 3 returns is pretty fun, you have to buy the pistol that you put the "Wii-mote" into. THere is also another one that is a resident evil game, it isn't the same game play as the other resident evil's. These two games and the pistol control are like the arcade games where you point tthe gun at the screen and go around shooting. I bought my cousin the pistol and house of the dead for Christmas, we ended up opneing it up and playing it here on my Wii for a couple of hours. I'm pretty sure there are a few other games out there like this also. Don't forget about the guitar hero and rockband games either.

Flintlock1776
Super Mario Galaxy. An acrade game fun & harmless. Brunswick Pro Bowling. Get some white socks a wood floor and watch the adults go nuts having fun with this game. Call of Duty 3- a harder to use 1st person WW2 shooter. It ain't easy if you are older than a teenager:eek: Guitar Hero - nuff said about that. Smack Down vs. Raw - a wrestling game kids like Battle of the Pacific- a bit easier WW2 1st person shooter. Fun Plus the basic games the device comes with. The basic bowling is fun.

bozz
I like the Cabela's Dangerous Hunts Game. I just got that one for $ 20 bucks at GS. Looks good and I have the older ones as well, good games. We also have the Cabelas BGH and its pretty good. I too recomend UC resident evil 2 player light gun arcade mode type game. Tomb raider is fun if you like a lot of puzzle solving mystery's, and we just got COD 3 for $10 bucks too. Some good war games out now as well. We had GH but got burnt out on the terrible songs so we got rid of it. They are pretty fun if you can stand the negative heavy metal rock music that consist of most of the songs. We couldn't but perfer Christian music anyhow.
backwoods07
Guitar hero for Wii is not good!! It's a sweet game for every other system, but don't be fooled! I just bought myself a Wii and still am addicted to Wii Sports. You really can't go wrong with Mario Kart either

I have the Aerosmith edition for mine and have no complaints. I have also played it on the ps2, and xbox 360. I have played every version of GH on pretty much every system, and I see no difference other than the 360 allows you to download new songs. backwoods07
The gameplay itself seemed a lot different on Wii than on 360. Some of the new features like the music studio seem like they need to be tweaked a little bit. It's somewhat difficult to get a feel for. But hey, I'm no video game expert. I just didn't like the feel of it compared to 360 I think it's a little too cartoony for me too... I see no difference other than the 360 allows you to download new songs. I'm pretty sure you can download on Wii too if I'm not mistaken

In fact, gamers may be loosing their position of focus with game developers. Read this Forbes interview with Cliff Bleszinski ( those that game recognize the name) http://www.forbes.com/technology/2008/12/29/games-gears-bleszinski-tech-enter-cx_mji_1229games.html Oh, and I am hard core gamer but I welcome Wii growth to broaden the gaming landscape. Kind of like hunting. Regardless of the style of hunting you like I don't worry if someone perfers a style I don't engage in. We are better off being more open and expanding hunting as well as video gaming.

My wife, who doesn't game at all, even enjoys playing the sports. Now she may not play GH with me, but then again she might. It is a console that gets the whole family involved. It's this generations version of Family Board game night.
