Adjam5
Thought I'd share my experiences here with 2 companies. Ameristep. We have a Brickhouse Blind that works great, we love it. The backpack case that it came in. The zipper broke 2 times, and it warranted a trip to the shoemaker for restitching. $12 later and the zipper broke again:mad:. I called Ameristep, stated the issue and a new one is on the way...FREE;). Good Customer service, one happy consumer:) Will buy from again. Wildview Trail cams We have the Wildview Extreme5. The 3rd one from 2 exchanges in the past:rolleyes:. It had to come in the house at the end of November. It would not work in the cold...won't work in the cold? Gotta be kidding me. I called Wildview to say it don't work in the cold, and I was told that it states that in the manual, it won't work in the cold. OK I didn't read it, and don't even know where it is. Is that too much to ask of a trail cam? OK, even if it is... How come there is nothing stating the fact that it won't work in cold weather until you get it home and READ the manual:rolleyes:. No matter where you read about this trail cam it makes absolutely no mention of its inability to work in cold weather. Northerners would not buy this brand if thats what it said in its description. I am stuck with the camera. One unhappy customer:( Will not buy again and that includes Stealthcam, they make Wildview.
wtnhunt
That is cool about Ameristep, have heard good things about them. Hope our doghouse blind holds up for a few seasons for us. That makes no sense about the cold with trail cams. Too bad on the trail cam Anthony. Stealth cam used to have decent service, I had an issue with an old 35 mm cam back about 4 or 5 years ago and they sent me a replacement camera back no questions asked. Within a short time later, that same camera developed issues due to the leak from the bad back that I had replaced, when I called their customer service back I did not get the same type of response the first time I dealt with them. Seems some of these trail camera companies have kind of gotten away from treating their customers right. Leaf river used to have great service, my most recent dealings with them sure were not what I had expected.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
No experience with the trail cam company. But I have had good experiences with Ameristep. Nothing big, I bought an Intimidator blind a few months ago, it didn't have the bow hanger or DVD that were supposed to be i the box, after exchanging emails, both were here in 2 day. They also had a problem with the rebate company they used, we had already received the check and deposited it, but the rebate company filed for bankruptcy and the check bounced, so we were out the $50 and another $10 from the bounced check fee at the bank. A few days later we got a letter saying to send in proof the check bounced and the statement showing the bank charges (which ironically we got both in the mail the day before) and they would reimburse us for the bank fee along with the $50 rebate. They are a local company, located about 20 minutes from here, and I grew up a couple miles from where they are located. Actually know a guy who used to work for them and was on the cover of some of their product packages as well, like the safety harnesses. They will continue to get my business for a long time. bluelund79
Sounds like a good situation with Ameristep and disappointing with your cam. I'd like to give a huge thumbs up for Streamlight. My personal TLR-2 has seen better days since I purchased it, I had the mounting screw strip after being transferred between personal and military arms. Sent an email to customer service and got an address label to print. They replaced everything except the serial number, and paid shipping both ways, no questions asked. Put it this way, guess what flashlights now are in the house and vehicles and get put in xmas stockings....
